What do I wear to my infrared sauna appointment?  We provide a towel to sit on keeping the bench clean and free of sweat.

How long is the session? If you are a first timer, it is best to start with shorter sessions until your body acclimates to the heat. At which point you can gradually increase the time until you arrive at the recommended 40 minutes a session. Be sure not to rush your progress, take it slowly and be patient. After a few weeks you will get used to the heat and look forward to your infrared therapy sessions.

Can I eat before my session?  Spending time inside an infrared cabin can boost your circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients inside your body, like oxygen, glucose, fattyacids, and amino acids. Because of this, your body will delay digestion since it is concentrating on delivering nutrients throughout the body. Using infrared saunas on a full stomach can lead to nausea and prevent your body from properly digesting food. It is for this reason that we suggest avoiding eating right before your infrared sauna session. If you feel that you need to eat, stick to something light.

What is the difference between Infrared Sauna and Traditional Saunas? In traditional heating technology, hot air heats the air first to eventually penetrate the skin, this requires much higher temperatures, which are much less tolerable. Infrared technology skips the middle man and penetrates the body directly heating you. This allows people to stay in longer and achieve a higher internal temperature; therefore greatly increasing benefits. Less suffering, more benefit.

How do you burn calories while sweating? By heating your core temperature and inducing sweating, infrared saunas increase blood flow and heart rate, much like moderate exercise, and can burn up to 600 calories in just one 30-minute session.

Can I do my treatment with someone else? Yes! The Infrared is roomy enough to bring in a spouse, significant other or friend.

How will I feel after and what should I do for best results? Think of how you feel right after a workout and that’s probably the feeling you’ll have right after your sauna session. But within 30 minutes, you’ll experience a boost in energy and mood resulting in a productive afternoon and restful night’s sleep.

Is there anyone who should not sauna? Saunas are not advisable for women who are pregnant, anyone with a pacemaker or those who have an inability to sweat.
